Chicago – The Promethean Conclave

The 1893 Columbian Exposition was a wonder to behold, the pinnacle of achievement of some of the era’s brightest minds. At its debut, it was lit by a hundred thousand lamps provided by Nikola Tesla, a miracle of light and illumination that sprung to life at the press of a button by President Cleveland. Ferris’ first ever wheel, a towering mass of steel and masterwork of engineering, provided the perfect vantage from which to view the gleaming White City and the sprawling gardens surrounding it. The statue of the Republic welcomed the best of humanity, arms aloft to greet all who came together to share the ways they had been inspired to build, grow, and change. The ideals, principles, and spectacle of our World’s Fair linger in the hearts and minds of any prone to wonder. We, the Promethean Conclave, ask ourselves: why shouldn’t the enlightened minds of our time come together once again to build a better world?   We rely on humanity. Las Vegas - The Promethean Conclave

The brightest minds among kindred gathered for a meeting of the Promethean Conclave to celebrate the opening of a new chapter of the Universidad de Noche in the newest center for free-thought: Las Vegas.

To christen this expansion of his Universidad, Dr. Vermundo de Sancha gathered all the members of the Conclave so he could share his recent successes in research and ask if they should be shared with humanity. The Conclave members were also presented with an opportunity to share their own successes for discussion and debate. After thorough examination of each experiment presented, the Promethean Conclave decided that two of the proposals had shown the most merit: RNA screening and treatment of bloodborne pathogens put forth by a wise Salubri member of the Conclave, and the creation of synthetic blood put forth by both Dr. de Sancha and a Ventrue Promethean. 

The strengths and weaknesses of both proposals were weighed, potential challenges to the pursuit of each were considered, as were the opportunities presented by both ideas. Ultimately, the Prometheans decided to put their time and resources into pursuing the RNA proposal. The Conclave tabled more discussion to mingle and make inroads with kindred outside their circle to ensure they had the resources needed to make their vision a reality. 

Some of the Prometheans were approached by a powerful Ventrue from the Executive Board to ask if the synthetic blood proposal had been chosen. The Prometheans acknowledged to this Ventrue that the proposal had merit, but told them that they had ultimately decided against it because it was not as far along as the RNA testing. This interaction planted the seed for ambitious members of the Prometheans to reconvene and create a plan to seek backing from each faction to support their goals. This would not only serve to show the Triumvirate of Vegas that the Conclave’s pursuits were worthy, but also would work to mitigate interference from outside factions as they would be sharing in the result. After canvasing with personal connections, negotiating for collected resources, and appealing to the rumoured interests of other factions, the Prometheans gained support from every other faction in attendance and presented the collected signatures to Dr. de Sancha. Dr. de Sancha led the Conclave to present their results to Jaromír who showed interest and approved of their plans. The faction is well on their way to realize their dream of better defenses against bloodborne pathogens, thanks to their collective efforts.
