Factions are groups of kindred loosely drawn together around a common interest or cause. For some, the purpose is pure profit motive. Others are bound together through shared faith, ideals, or their enthusiasm for a common thing. Most cities have them; they’re larger than coteries but more public than secret societies. Some kindred loosely belong merely to socialize, while others define themselves by their affiliation with them.
